ABOUT UNIVERSITY
Kyiv Medical University is one of the largest Ukrainian private universities and the only one with about 3200 students enrolled, 35% of which are foreign students from 56 countries. Kyiv Medical University has got IV (the highest) level of accreditation (license of MES of Ukraine from 07.05.2019).
As a university with the highest level of accreditation by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, all degrees issued to foreign students are legalized and apostatized by the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Ukraine.
Kyiv Medical University (KMU) is recognized and listed in all relevant international directories of medical universities such as the International Medical Education Directory (IMED).
This means graduates are eligible to write the United States Medical Licensing Examinations and means certificates are recognized by the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) in US and the Medical Council of Canada (MCC) for eligibility of graduates to obtain certification and Licensure hence may pursue residency and postgraduate programs in these countries.
Kyiv Medical University is also registered in the AVICENNA Directory which is maintained by the University of Copenhagen in collaboration with the World Health Organization and the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) meaning Kyiv Medical University is fully recognized by the WHO all governments.
Kyiv Medical University is recognized by the Ghana Dental and Medical Council, Nigerian Dental and Medical Council, Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, European Council of Medicine, Indian Medical Council and General Medical Council of UK just to name a few. Kyiv Medical University has joint research and partnership relations with many scientific institutions of the former USSR and all over the world, such as The Poland Medical Academy, Center of control and prophylaxis of diseases of Department of health protection (CDC, US), the southern Kazakhstan scientific and practical conference with international participation and contract with Knurów Sląsk Hospital, Poland about organization of medical practice for students in 4th and 5th courses of medical faculty of Kyiv Medical University.

PHARMACEUTICAL FACULTY
Among all modern occupations pharmaceutical profession is considered one of the most prestigious and promising. The growth of the world population, increased life expectancy, as well as improvement of people’s welfare lead to growing annual healthcare costs. A considerable part of these is spent on drugs, which are developed, tested, manufactured and dispensed by the people who have chosen the pharmaceutical profession.

INTERNATIONAL FACULTY
Kyiv Medical University broadly define international faculty as academics who hold appointments in countries where they were not born and-or where they did not receive their first post-secondary degree. In most cases, they are not citizens of the country in which they hold their academic appointment. They are drivers of international consciousness at universities, they are often top researchers, and, in some countries, they constitute a large percentage of the academic labour force.
PREPARATORY FACULTY FOR FOREIGN CITIZENS
Students from the People’s Republic of China, Korea, Japan, the countries of Western Europe and the Middle East, Turkey, the USA and others study at the department. For many years of Preparatory Faculty for Foreign Citizens work of Kyiv Medical University, the department has prepared more than 3000 foreign students. The teachers of the department are highly qualified specialists and have extensive experience in teaching foreign students.
The task of the preparatory department for foreign citizens is to teach foreign citizens Russian (Ukrainian) language, to prepare them for admission to the Kyiv Medical University and other higher education institutions of Ukraine.
Admission to study at the preparatory department for foreign students is carried out on the basis of an individual official invitation issued by the Kyiv Medical University.
During the academic year, students of the Preparatory Department study the Russian Language, the Russian Literature, the Ukrainian Language, the History of Ukraine, Economic and Social Geography of the World, the Phonetics of the Russian Language or Western European language (English / German).
Studying continues beyond the classroom. Students are offered to visit excursions around Kiev and historical places of Ukraine museums, theaters, exhibition halls which contribute to the effective mastering of the Russian (Ukrainian) language.
PRACTICAL TRAINING
Kyiv has a huge number of outstanding hospitals equipped with brand new and modern tools for effective diagnosis, treatment and maintenance of patients’ health. Our students have the opportunity not only to receive theoretical knowledges at our university but they can also practice in city hospitals, such as:
ACCOMMODATION
The Kyiv medical University has its own hostel accommodation for all its students. The student dormitory enables students access to a lot of facilities automatically. The hostel becomes second home for the students in a matter of few days where students from all over the world come, live, study and interact.
The hostel is located very close to the educational campus and is a 7 min walk from the main campus and is well connected to all the basic provisions like Metro, Bus stops, Super Markets and other convenience stores.

ABOUT THE CITY
Kiev or Kyiv is the capital and most populous city of Ukraine. It is in north-central Ukraine along the Dnieper River. Its population in July 2015 was 2,887,974, making Kiev the 6th-most populous city in Europe.
Kiev is an important industrial, scientific, educational and cultural center of Eastern Europe. It is home to many high-tech industries, higher education institutions, and historical landmarks. The city has an extensive system of public transport and infrastructure, including the Kiev Metro.
The history of Kiev started more than 1,500 years ago, when around 950 churches, cathedrals and monuments were built. The top attractions of the city, with their primordial architecture and fascinating history, are worthwhile seeing when visiting Kiev. Here is a list of the must-see historical and contemporary attractions in the city.
We would like to recommend a couple of interesting and memorable places that you could visit in Kyiv:
SAINT SOPHIA’S CATHEDRAL
Saint Sophia’s Cathedral is an outstanding complex; work started on it in 1037 and lasted for just three years. As the architectural monument has had only a few reconstructions, you can marvel at the Byzantine cathedral in close to its original form. In addition, as it is located at the intersection of the four leading roads in Kiev, climb to the cathedral’s bell tower and you’ll be rewarded with a magnificent view from the top.
Mikhail Bulgakov Museum
The literary and memorial museum is devoted to the famous writer Mikhail Bulgakov, who was born in Kiev. From 1906 to 1919, he lived in this house while writing his book The White Guard. Bulgakov included the building and land next to it and the internal layout of the house is exactly the same as described in his novel.
National Art Museum of Ukraine
The exposition of the National Art Museum of Ukraine includes masterpieces of Ukrainian paintings and sculpture, dating back to the times of Kievan Rus (the federation of East Slavic tribes from the 9th to 13th centuries). The museum currently has about 40,000 exhibits and has one of the richest collections of ancient iconostases in Ukraine.
Kiev Pechersk Lavra monastery
This place has a long history, which began in the 11th century. Kiev Pechersk Lavra is an Orthodox monastery, one of the earliest and most significant monasteries of Kievan Rus. Being famous for its ancient churches, beautiful territory and network of catacombs, the complex has served as a calling card of Kiev for many years.
Mariyinsky Palace
This beautiful palace, formerly known as Tsarskoe, is located next to the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) building and is the ceremonial residence of the President of Ukraine. The Mariyinsky Palace was built in 1744 by the Italian Baroque architect Bartolomeo Rastrelli. Today, it hosts various events of national importance such as receptions, summits and awards, as well as meetings of official delegates from all over the world.
Botanical garden and the greenhouse
The Botanical Garden is a part of the natural reserve fund of Ukraine. In addition to the rich flora, it’s well worth seeing the Trinity Monastery of St. Jonas, located on the garden, with ancient murals from the 19th century. There is also a beautiful greenhouse complex that has various kinds of tropical flowers, cacti, succulents and palm trees.
